While the Earth had been quiet lately, there was something that had gotten his attention. There was a positive to him mastering his Ki sensing ability and that was that he could essentially monitor people at all times without being close to them. While he usually only focused on those that he knew such as his kids, those he was training, it allowed others to slip through the cracks. After all, he would've easily been able to pick up a massive threat to the Earth if it were present at any point in time and while there were other powerful forces lingering on Earth, none of them had been doing anything to get his attention.
Today though, there was a conflict that got his attention. It wasn't anything that he couldn't handle and at first he had deemed it to be unimportant. Somebody he was training had decided to tap into her full power and use it on a power that had just arrived. There was a third party there too but Athren didn't really pay any attention towards it. Now this had made Athren think that there might have been a minor threat but at the same time, the power he sensed wouldn't have required the extreme level that Opherla had taken it too. He was far too curious to just let it slip, he wanted to investigate and figured out EXACTLY what happened.
He had arrived just in time to see a traditional looking saiyan warrior disintegrating something in her hand to ash and he couldn't help but arch a brow. He was curious as to what a lone saiyan had been doing out here but he assumed it had something to do with the Earth and Vegeta trying to come to some sort of terms. He landed in front of her and glanced at her curiously, his ocean blue eyes taking a lock on her own. It was obvious that she was in distress, angry, annoyed and he felt like he knew the cause but that wasn't going to stop him from asking. If this person had worked for the Queen, this conflict might've very well been a start to even more trouble.
He crossed his arms before he spoke as his grey tail swung behind him gently. "You know, it's rather impressive that you managed to get out of that situation alive. Most saiyans, they likely wouldn't have."
His approach here was simple. He knew what he was dealing with. Her appearance said everything about her that he needed to know. Her attitude that he had witnessed, the conflict that seemed to start so easily. She was a saiyan to the core and instead of focusing on her defeat, he was going to focus on the positive.
"And before you ask, I'm not here to fight. It looks like you've had enough of a fight for one day. Though I am curious, what brings you to Earth? I wouldn't be wrong by taking a guess and saying you're one of the saiyan diplomats, would I?" He was hoping that he could tip-toe through this without pissing her off further. He wanted to deescalate the situation.

Salada didn't notice the approach of the stranger immediately. Why would she? Her scouter was burnt out, her mind was focused on her own disgrace and what she'd do about it... She was FAR too occupied to spare ANY attention to this man! Blast those two... Blast them and their entire substandard sub-species to HELL! The Saiyans, if they had any sense, would GLASS this planet, sell it off, and order her back! ...But no, she still had to TRY and form some kind of relationship with these idiots... It really ground her gears, Salada. WHY!? WHY did they NEED to care about this place? What significance did this planet have!?
BAH! If she had her way... IF SHE HAD HER WAY... but she didn't. If she turned this order down here, she would be going rogue and even she understood that was a death sentence. If not from her fellow Saiyans, this planet would be the death of her if she stayed without empire authority, those half-breeds proved that well enough. She needed to get stronger before she attempted to do anything... And for now she had to be compliant. Salada grunted and allowed her energy to fade away... and it would be THEN that Athren revealed himself! Salada's head JERKED UP towards the voice, spotting what looked to be a Saiyan hovering over her, his arms crossed. As he landed, the stranger would comment how LUCKY Salada was to survive any of that, that most of her kinsmen would have likely DIED right then.
Salada said nothing. What COULD she even say to that!? Denying it would be an obvious lie. Salada's power surpassed a great deal of her kin on Vegeta and SHE got obliterated in that last encounter... and probably would have been LITERALLY had it not been for Opherla's pathetic conscience. She WOULDN'T admit to it either, as it would bring ANOTHER level of disgrace to herself! Admitting weakness was NOT a strength nor was humility a virtue! Even if it was only a mask, Salada would protect her Pride. Pride... after all, was what made a Saiyan a Saiyan. Instead, she growled with anger at the man's observation, crossing her own arms in some attempt to control the situation. This guy.... he looked tough. If Opherla and Leik were any indication, this man would have an easier time making a fool of her than those two did! Again, Salada grunted as the man made more subtle jabs at her defeat, commenting how he wouldn't even need to fight her... After all, she looked pretty beaten down as it is.
"Then get to the point!" The Saiyan-es demanded! ...And he did. The man questioned why she was on Earth in the first place, suggesting that she was a diplomat of some kind. Salada grunted in acknowledgement of that guess. ...He was sharp. "I was sent here... because word had reached Planet Vegeta that previous attempts at contact have resulted in disaster. I was sent here to try and... smooth things over, you might say." Salada still refused to acknowledge her defeat, even though the images of the few moments after touching down flashed through her mind. "...Are you one of this planet's defenders or something?"

Well, her first words had proven to him that she was a snappy one but that didn't surprise him in the least. Ego and saiyan pride had gone a long way to sure a majority of his race were unpleasant to talk to in situations like this. He was just happy he knew how to handle it, years living on Vegeta would give somebody the insight to handle it after all. Whether or not his calm and cool attitude would annoy her further was out of his control but his main priority was to calm this whole thing down. He wanted to know her truth, to be put into the situation from her perspective. With the power level difference, he already assumed Opherla's but whether or not he was wrong about it was what he needed to find out. Was it necessary to use that much power or was ego, or something else entirely?
Hearing her explain to him that he was right with his guess, he couldn't help but smirk faintly. "I'd have to go ahead and say this is another disaster of an attempt, or at least the start of one. Unless we set it right." The LAST thing Athren wanted was to bring the full wrath of the Saiyan Empire down on Earth. While a majority of the saiyan race wouldn't be able to touch him in the slightest an attack like that could mean a grave loss of life and his own children could be included in that even if they had their tails. It was something he wouldn't want to risk and with the situation in the city a few months ago, he'd rather try to deter it from that at all costs.
Asking him whether or not he was a defender or not was a very valid question and while he was, he didn't quite see himself as such. He had done to officially advertise it. While he did have the intention of defending the planet, he had also done great harm and for that reason, he wasn't going to tell her it bluntly. "Something like that? I'm mostly concerned about my other duties and they take priority." Of course here, he was referring to his village. He didn't want to be in the spotlight or seen as some defender. He just wanted to help when needed.
Without avoiding the main subject even further, he wanted to dive right into it. He needed the facts and he didn't want to wait. He needed to know if his selection of trainees wasn't the best of choices. "You mind explaining what happened here? To me, it doesn't sound like you're coming here to do any harm. In fact, is sounds like quite the opposite." It was at this point Athren would give her his full attention. He was going to listen closely, purely to understand. He wasn't going to make any rash decisions based on his own assumptions so she was key to sorting this entire thing out.

Salada was not amused by the stranger's dry sense of humor. It was OBVIOUS that this was another cataclysmic debacle... only this time, it was on the Earthlings, rather than her people. Salada didn't exactly know the context of what caused the Earthlings to be so viscerally distrustful and paranoid of the Saiyans in recent times, only that it involved the Queen and some impulsive decision on her part. Now... the roles were reversed. As much as it repulsed Salda, she had come in peace, only to get beaten down by some girl and her idiot friend. ...Even if things might've been considered "even" in a cosmic sense, Salada wouldn't accept it so easily. Her people were made to look like FOOLS! FIRST by their Queen acting disgracefully, then with Salada being beaten to a pulp like a common chump! No WONDER Earth looked down on them the way Opherla implied!
THEY SAW NOTHING BUT WEAKNESS IN THEIR PEOPLE! If Salada had the time or the weakness of spirit to be, she would have felt the sting of raw, unadulterated disappointment begin to set in. THIS was where they were at now as a species. THIS was where their "Warrior Race" resided: Sending messengers to be killed and messages to be misinterpreted. They were seen as weaklings for the slaughter, something to be disposed of! ...What a JOKE!
...But self-pity was the least of her problems right now. Standing before her was a man (a full-blooded Saiyan...? It was hard to tell) with likely enough power to make Opherla melt in her boots, most likely. He certainly behaved that way, spoke with the cool confidence of a man of authority. She could respect that, at least. He wore his pride on his sleeve and his strength on his chest. In this respect, he was Saiyan-enough to make this conversation tolerable.
The man suggested that they should deal with this matter before it become too big, explaining to Salada that he WAS a defender once, but other responsibilities got in the way. Salada nodded. She could understand that. It was much like her situation, she expected, forced to step out of her rightful place as a warrior to fulfill a vastly inferior position. She tilted her head as the man asked for her side of the story, to explain what happened to cause... whatever happened a second ago. The Saiyan cringed, her scowl returning. The LAST thing she wanted was to recount those events, the memories bittering her already sour mood... But it wasn't like she was in any position to say "get bent" so... she complied.
"I explained earlier that I was sent as a representative of sorts to Earth, to establish a diplomatic presence on your world. My superiors felt it was necessary given how relations have... deteriorated recently." Salada spoke sharply, shortly, as if the mere implication of 'peace' disgusted her to her core. "...I touched down and was approached by two native half-breeds. Opherla was the name of one. The other... Liek, I believe. They questioned me. Challenged me. Regardless of my mission, I would not be talked down to by some uppity runt!" Salada raised her fist and CLENCHED it... It then dropped back down to her side. "I don't know how thickly Saiyan blood runs through your veins, Earthling, but a true Saiyan Warrior NEVER backs down from a challenge. She not only defeated me. I was HUMILIATED. They demanded I give up, foresake my pride as if it were a prize for them to win... then one of them GRABBED... MY..." A light blush once more flashed across Salada's face and she looked away. She did not finish that thought. Her damned tail. They grabbed... her DAMNED TAIL! "...And for one final insult, the boy, Liek, offered me 'training' as if I was his inferior! How dare he!? Do they have no pride of their OWN!?" Salada's aura FLARED... for a moment... before she remembered who she was standing in front of.
"THAT is what happened. I was beaten and humiliated in the first few minutes of landing on this dirt ball. ME! I can't BELIEVE IT!"

All things considered, this had been rather going well for Athren and he wasn't getting any unnecessary attitude aimed towards him. That's the last thing he needed right now. Usually this kind of situation wasn't on he was actively going to get himself involved in but he firmly believed it was his duty here to follow up. After all, he already knew that Opherla had been here and at least been involved in a conflict and he sensed that it was very much overkill. If this is what she was going to do with her power, he wouldn't train her any longer. It was one thing to use your power to defend people or defend yourself but using it to start the trouble? That wasn't what it was about. Athren had spent his life using his power causing trouble for others and while he was ordered to do so, the outcome was less that great and if the individuals were part of a race that could cause a massive threat, well it was just foolish and that's exactly what this was. Athren could only picture the Queen sending in more saiyans to Earth but instead of diplomatic reasons, for more violent ones.
Athren couldn't help but shake his head slightly, even giving out a little sigh. The LAST thing the Earth needed was more issues. It didn't need people running around starting up bigger conflicts. The Saiyan Pride that this saiyan had displayed had been in the hearts of most saiyans, it was what fueled them, pushed them to be stronger, better and it wasn't something so easily cast aside. If the saiyan race would continue to be treated that way by the Earthlings, their pride would eventually lead them to more aggressive acts, or that's how Athren saw it. Some may say the Queen could prevent that but she wouldn't understand. The Saiyan's would rise up and remove her too. It was only a matter of time before their lust for battle inspired a change of leadership.
"So, essentially what you're telling me is that the second you landed Opherla had approached you and instantly initiated a fight? Then when it was nearly concluded this.. Liek character jumped in and grabbed your tail?"
He may have repeated himself but he needed to know for certain that he got it right, after all he had a decision to make and he couldn't afford to have anything wrong or left out because he misunderstood. He watched as her aura flared up, it was very obvious that she wasn't happy with the outcome of the fight but who could blame her? She had just arrived her and essentially got flexed on, jumped and humiliated. That wasn't something Athren would support at all. Even when he fought Liari, he didn't want anybody else stepping in. While he couldn't necessarily stop Quash from joining without being distracted from his opponent, it wasn't something he supported. He might've only been a half saiyan but he retained some of his principles from Vegeta.
"The Saiyan blood running through my veins might not be as pure as yours, but I retain the principles of living most of my life on Vegeta." He paused for a brief moment, allowing her to understand what he just said. While he didn't say it outright, he suggested that he wasn't pure but he was of the same culture. "These Earthlings don't have the same views on fighting, they aren't warriors like you or me. They're primary goals is to defend life, themselves, no matter the cost. There are no warrior principles, they don't strive to be the best, the strongest but losing them to you isn't humiliating, It's a stepping stone."
In an instance Athren had transformed into Super Saiyan without any effort at all. His golden hair, his turquoise eyes and his power had exploded. "If you only knew the losses it took me to get to this point, you'd be happy that you're on your way. Hold onto this, but don't let it drag you down, instead.. let it build you up."
Athren paused for one more brief second..
"If you can drop your pride, at least with me. Maybe I can help you get here."

Salada refused to confirm what Athren was asking her. Not ONLY because her pride had taken more than enough BATTERING relaying the event to someone else, but because it was more than obvious that this was the case. If the forest around them wasn't a clear enough indication that a battle had taken place, Salada's own behavior paired with her damaged armor were obvious context clues that whatever battle HAD occurred, it didn't end well for her. The Saiyan warrior merely crossed her arms and looked away. She didn't even want to be here anymore, this forest. The last thing she needed was for some other schmuck to come by with a power-level reaching octuple digits and demand an explanation. ...But Athren wasn't quite done. Despite his demeanor and appearance, the man would confirm that, in fact, he was a halfblood, not unlike those that had come for her before. Salada scoffed. Of course, he was. In truth, Salada was somewhat surprised. This man came off like a pureblood, if a more mild-mannered one. He held himself like a warrior, got to the point when he was speaking, and seemed to have some measure of pride about him. His power, even suppressed as it was, practically radiated off of the man invisibly. She KNEW he was mighty without needing a scouter to scan him. What a disappointment it turned out to be that he wasn't one of them.
...Although, Athren seemed confident that he was, even going as far as to explain that he grew up under Saiyan culture. This got Salada's attention. Although it was true that their current monarch was BARELY a Saiyan biologically, she hadn't known of any halfbreeds that had grown up under the current... or even the PREVIOUS rule. Most of those were born out of impulse or treachery by other warriors, those who couldn't keep it in their armor or those who were more than content to take it off forever. Salada looked back a the imposing figure of Athren, sizing him up with a suspicious eye. Maybe THAT was where she'd gotten that semblance of pride from. Perhaps he had embraced his Saiyan side... if only partially.
"Yeah, I noticed." Salada grunted in response to Athren's explanation on Earthlings. "The average power level on this dump is '5.' That's below most of Earth's larger wildlife. They're obviously NOT warriors. And yeah, I understand they don't have the heads for it either. They're cowards." Athren then commented how, in most cases, these fighters had the goal of defending life, that losses were considered stepping stones rather than defeats! Salada actually laughed at this, spite dripping from her voice. "Oh, that's rich. So not only are they cowards, they're saps! What, do they care about every blade of grass on this rock? Do they sing little songs about their favorite speck of dust? Ridiculous. And you LIVE with these yahoos!?"
...That was when Athren exploded. Rather, that's how it looked to Salada. The half-saiyan BURST with golden light, so much power ROCKETING out of him at once that Salada was THROWN off her feet! She crashed back into a particularly sturdy tree trunk, her face scrunching in pain... then her eyes shot WIDE as she stared at the warrior before him. Clad in golden aura with intense turquoise eyes stood...
"The legendary Super Saiyan..." Salada uttered, awe-struck... and somewhat fearful. She had heard stories of a few select Saiyans who push past their limits again and again, their hearts forged in rage and frustration before transforming into something truly epitomizing power. The Super Saiyan. They were few... and they were still yet legends on Planet Vegeta, even if their numbers were steadily increasing. Salada could only Athren, her jaw nearly on the floor as the man spoke further. He warned Salada that the things it took to achieve this form were terrible, to say the least... and that she shouldn't forge herself around any one defeat. He even went as far as to suggest that he could teach her to harness this power for himself... that is, if she gave up her pride.
...Salada's eyes refocused as if awakening from hypnosis. She narrowed her eyes at the golden-haired legend, her lips curling downward into a snarl. It kept repeating in her head. Three people now: Give up your pride. Give up your pride. Give. It. UP!
"Never." The Saiyan warrior growled. Despite the pain in her back from that tree, she ROSE to her full height, locking eyes with Athren. "...No true Saiyan would ever sacrifice her PRIDE. As someone who claimed to grow up under us, you don't have a true Saiyan heart." Salada slammed her fist against her chest for emphasis. "I don't know how you achieved this form... I don't know WHY you even want to train me... But if it comes at the cost of my pride, you can take your offer... and STUFF it." Was it a foolish move to say such things to, probably, the strongest fighter in the universe!?
...Why yes. Yes it was. Salada was aware that it was but she simply didn't CARE. She wasn't about to become some worthless softy pining over ROCKS AND BUGS like these Earthlings (according to Athren) seemed to be! She was a WARRIOR! FIGHTING WAS HER LIFE! TRUE STRENGTH, of body and pride, EMBODIED what a Saiyan was supposed to be! She knew it in her soul to be true! If this man demanded her pride for power? Why, the only choice was to refuse... and to do so with prejudice.

While she had a point about the average power level being as low as five, she had been mistaken with one thing. Not everybody on Earth was a coward and while there was those that almost loved the planet to defending even the wildlife, most of them hadn't taken it to that extreme. "I might live on their planet but I keep my distance from most of them and you'd be foolish to believe that they're all cowards. This Planet has produced quite a few powerful individuals, some that can even rival myself." Of course, he couldn't help but think of Pran when he said that. While Callion could've counted, he was a full saiyan after all and not to mention Ayu. Athren had known she was different than most but from what he recalled, she had been brought into this world from this planet so she had to count. "They may be a mostly peaceful people, but I wouldn't cast them aside so quickly."It appeared that she couldn't quite handle the blast from his transformation and this could only amuse Athren. He had done it so effortlessly and controlled, he couldn't help but wonder what would've happened if he really displayed what he could do and brought out the next level of the super saiyan transformation. He watched her blast back into the sturdy trunk of the tree, his now turqoise eyes glaring at her as she uttered words that he couldn't hear. He could tell from the look on her face that she was struck by fear and surprise. When it came to letting go of our pride, just around him he was curious how she was going to react. He could tell that she was a proud saiyan warrior through and through, she was the very same type of saiyan that he grew up around, that he trained with, that he ran around the universe with doing assignments under the former leadership. He knew that it wouldn't be so easy, but he couldn't help but hope. The typical saiyan attitude wasn't something he wished to tolerate at this point so it was at least worth a try. Athren arched his brow as she rose and looked him in the eyes, at this point he knew her answer before she even got any words out. Maybe she had misunderstood or maybe she just wanted to hold onto her pride with an iron grip, either way, Athren wasn't going to try and force it upon her. This was entirely her decision. It was at this point his golden hair faded and he returned to his base form and with a little shrug of his shoulders, he continued speaking.
"That's your decision, though to be clear if you were to accept my offer I don't ask you to abandon your pride or your saiyan heritage. I simply ask that you don't display it around me. I've dealt with it enough and would much rather not deal with it here. I don't even want to formally train you, instead just try to give you the tools to defend yourself so what just happened, doesn't happen again."
He assumed that she was going to double down on her answer and that was fine, at least he could say he did his best to explain it to the best of his abilities. With Opherla using her power so eagerly, he didn't exactly want a saiyan like this to do it either but he felt like this saiyan deserved the chance to defend themselves if Opherla had decided to act up again. Regardless, this was completely on her.
"What's your name, Saiyan?" With a pause, he followed up.
"Mines Athren."

Yes, yes. That's what they ALL say whenever someone criticizes their planet. 'Don't underestimate us! We haven't shown you our true power yet!' ...Only to be destroyed in the blink of an eye. When it came to the Saiyans, this declaration actually held water. Their potential, according to their records, could reach heights completely unheard of. Saiyans had an excuse to declare such things but... EARTHLINGS!? IS THIS A JOKE!? Salada didn't take Athren's little declaration seriously, not an inch. How could she? He might as well have been saying planets were flat! Besides... even if that WAS the case, that there were humans on this world that could rival Super Saiyans, the Saiyan Empire would know of it! Of course, they would! Even Zaks, with how little Saiyan blood she actually had, wouldn't allow such an insult to stand, surely! Saiyans are a true warrior race! Any power that surpassed theirs would be treated like THE target for all Saiyans to conquer! ...So Athren must have been pulling her chain, doing his best to justify living among these whelps, yeah that's it. He must have been one of those freaks of potential, those one-in-a-million spawn that were able to climb rungs of power like steps on a ladder... ...and somehow, despite possessing roughly half Saiyan genetics, he spoke like any common Earthling might: like a softy. Hmph. Random chance surely favored the pathetic, Salada judged. She wondered how it felt to be both an inspiration and a disappointment all at once... Frustrating, she was sure. Having power but without the heart to truly use it... What a vexing position. What was more vexing, though, was Athren's condition of training her! It was perhaps more insulting that he wanted Salada to act special JUST for him, to embrace the Earthling softness so long as she trained under him! ...And the insults just kept coming, suggesting that Salada herself wasn't even able to defend herself on this world, that she needed his 'help.' "Oh, just stop." Salada rumbled, brushing aside Athren's offer a second time! "You really have NO memory of what we're like if you think I'll be taken in by that offer! We are a PROUD people! We don't take handouts from anyone! 'Tools to defend myself...' 'You don't want to formally train me...' Don't you dare look down on me!" Salada's fist clenched, her muscles contracted... OH how she wanted to hit this man... She wanted to SMASH her fist across his jaw and send it spiraling into the dirt behind him! ...But he couldn't. Athren was right about one thing: She was too weak. She couldn't even contend with those two brats, let alone a legendary SUPER SAIYAN! For all of her bluster... and as much as Salada HATED herself for admitting it, she was what amounted to a paper tiger from what she'd seen on this world. ...That had to change, immediately. EVERY WAKING MOMENT that wasn't dedicated to her JOB would be thrown at training, she decided... if for no other reason than to make this promise a reality: She would become a Super Saiyan herself... And once she did, SHE would become the strongest... and it would have been by her OWN hand!
"I refuse." Salada said flatly, crossing her arms over her chest. "I don't need you. I'll find that power myself." ...And that seemed to be enough for Athren as he stopped trying to convince her in that.... EARTHLING-way he'd tried. However, he wanted to know her name. Salada blinked. After all that, after talking down to her like she was some mongrel dog he'd found on the street, like he was taking pity on her as if some lost child in the wilderness... he wanted to know her NAME...? ...It took a bunch of insults but it looked like his Saiyan genetics finally kicked in. Salada jabbed at herself with her thumb, smirking confidently.
"I... am Salada. Remember it... Athren."

He couldn't deny the fact that he knew that her nerves would get completely shot after his simple request, she was a true saiyan after all and whether or not she believed that he had no memory of what they were like, she had been wrong. Athren was very well adapted to talking with saiyans, he used to compete with them, try to outshine them. He lived among them and was well respected amongst his peers. He knew very well but that had felt like a lifetime ago, there was no need for all that anymore. He was just being straight to the point, honest and genuinely trying to help her. He just didn't want to deal with that pride, he didn't want to deal with that attitude. He just wanted to get her up to par so she could defend herself if she had gotten attacked like that again. While he did mean well, she clearly didn't see it that way and Athren had a feeling it would come to this.
He observed as she clenched her fist tightly, he knew that there was a rage pumping through her, that there was an inch for fighting but that wouldn't be a wise choice. If she had a hard time with Opherla, she'd have an impossible time with him. Hell, even if she DID try to punch him and it happened to collide, it was likely he wouldn't even feel it. "Trust me, I remember completely what the saiyan race is like and while I had my doubts you'd jump on the offer, I'm only trying to help. Whether you see it this way or not, I've been nothing but respectful and completely honest with you. If you choose to take offense to that, that's on you."
With her outright refusal, Athren wasn't surprised. He had hoped for the best but got the answer he wasn't looking for, though it wouldn't really bother him. He wasn't invested in this saiyan and he was simply just trying to do her a favor, after all it must've sucked getting stomped the second you arrive on Earth. Athren had felt similar, but never so quickly after arriving on to a planet. He felt as if Salada had set the saiyan record for an arrival and beating ratio.
"Well, I can't say I'm surprised by your refusal, but if you're going to find that power yourself.. I hope you do, and I hope you find it sooner rather than later." The Earth was a dangerous place for saiyans, whether or not everybody wanted to admit it. With the new technology that the Earth had been created, there were androids that had the potential to take down a saiyan and that wasn't something that was looking good. Let alone the technology that Athren didn't know about. Whether or not they knew it, they were all at risk. What form that would take, he didn't know but he knew with the saiyan registration act ramping up, it wasn't going to be good for the saiyans on the Earth that didn't register.
"Salada, Huh?"
Athren paused for a moment as he turned and began to walk away, "Give me a reason, and THEN.. I'll remember it."
He was going to make his leave, whether or not she'd stop him was a different question entirely.

In the face of Athren's stoic, almost stone-solid demeanor... Salada's outrage was beginning to boil down. Anger had been replaced with exhaustion, frustration... with defeat. No matter if he was a half-breed... he was right about one thing: He had been nothing but courteous... MORESO, in fact, that could be expected considering the fiasco he had willingly walked into! Salada still glared at the man, unwilling to relent... immediately.... but she could feel in her heart that some leaf was turning in there. Athren... was not Opherla. Yes, he was a half-breed and yes, he was softer and far too sympathetic to the Earthlings for her taste, but he was also powerful... VERY powerful... and he was offering to share that with her for no conceivable reason, at least as far as she could tell.
...There was a time and place for outrage... and it had come and gone. Salada wasn't doing the Saiyans any favors by coming off as a belligerent nitwit, easily pushed into a fit of irrational rage! ...She needed to calm herself, RELAX... before she lost everything! Taking a deep breath, Salada would... SWALLOW her wounded pride... for now. It wasn't on Athren's shoulders to bare the brunt of that that cat... dog... thing had done to her, what that child had done to her TAIL. ...Her vengeance would come for them soon enough... and it may come quicker still if she played along with this man and gave him what he wanted. Athren began to walk away, encouraging for Salada to find her own way to Super Saiyan... if she even could!
"I... Ugh... WAIT!" Salada called, reaching out for the half-Saiyan! "...If you're offering power... I'll take it." The young Saiyan declared, doing her BEST to agree to Athren's terms... without repeating them. It was more than enough, in her estimation, to agree ALL BUT VERBALLY to keep her ego in check... Even for one as hungry as she for strength, throwing away her dignity outright was just... a lot to ask. Should Ath turn back to her, Salada would cross her arms over her chest and grunt, looking the Super Saiyan over... analyzing him. Not only was that golden power... POWERFUL... it was different. It... TASTED different on her senses. There was a certain primal energy that burned deep inside, a feral, enraged kindling from which that power was born.
...Was that what Athren mentioned when he referenced what he had to go through to tap into that power...? Did something PUSH him over that edge...?
"...So what now?"

Just as he was about to fly away, he heard her voice calling for him to wait. She was lucky, if she had been a second longer he would've been in the air with no intentions of stopping. It would've been the window of opportunity that she had missed, but luckily for her he was willing to stop, he turned back to her, his arms crossing across his chest once more as she was actually physically reaching for him. This action alone gave him some insight to her, a side that she didn't often show but was obviously there. It might've been a side she didn't even know about or one she simply just cast aside, but it was a reach for help, even if it was for something such as power, she was willing to throw a little bit aside in order to accept help. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
"Salada, I'm not offering you power. I'm offering you the steps to get there, helping you understand the foundations so you can get there yourself. You're going to have to earn it and it isn't going to be easy and it might be a very challenge path but.. if you put in the effort that I know you will, you won't have any problems."
Athren's statement couldn't be truer. He wasn't going to tell her that he could just give her the power and that training with him was magically going to gift it to her, that wasn't the way this was going to work. He was going to train with her, help her with techniques, try to play with her emotions to bring the transformation out but every single milestone she reached was going to be a success of her own and he wouldn't even dare imply that he had a hand in it. They'd all be her own victories, he was just the experience to guide the way. If there was anything he'd actually encourage her to take pride in, it would be her own accomplishments. That was something he would support without any question.
With the what now question, Athren shrugged his shoulders. While he had a lot to do within his village the next few days, he knew he needed some time to get himself organized before he split off of his normal duties in order to help Salada. He couldn't help but think that two weeks was the safest bet. "Meet me here in two weeks and we'll begin, in the meantime.. Try not to get into too much trouble..? Yeah?" With that he'd turn and blast off, he had hoped she'd managed to keep a low profile but he somewhat had his doubts. No matter what came up, he was going to do his best to be here. He was a man of his word, the only thing that could stop him from keeping his word was death itself and while he didn't know that it was coming for all of them now, he would in two weeks time.
